THE STORY

GOZE - is a Japanese historic term referring to visually-impaired Japanese women, most of whom worked as musicians during the Edo Period. These women traveled the country and told stories through music and song.

Gozé began in 2018 in a 150 square foot music studio, converted garage in Venice, CA. That tiny studio became a home for artists to develop, explore, and expand their sound.

Gozé is a hybrid brand of clothing and music. The clothing draws inspiration from traditional Japanese Sashiko embroidery techniques, a skill Gozé was introduced to as a child in Japan. The music draws inspiration from the hip-hop culture of the 90's, that he was surrounded by as a teen in Stockholm and Los Angeles. The distinct influence of these three cultures imbues every aspect of the brand.
